OpenGuard Collective uses jiu-jitsu and MMA to create structure, mentorship, and opportunity for youth around the world.
We believe the discipline, community, and structure of martial arts can change the trajectory of a young person's life — anywhere in the world.
Consistent access to training, equipment, and qualified instruction. We put mats, gis, and coaches into communities that wouldn't otherwise have them.
Martial arts is a relationship sport. We connect youth with coaches and community leaders who show up, invest long-term, and build trust over time.
Competition, travel, scholarships, and exposure — we open doors that turn a local athlete into a confident, connected, globally-minded person.
Based in Las Vegas, Nevada, OGC is building a hub for domestic youth programming with plans to expand outreach across multiple US states. Our HQ serves as the coordination center for all international operations, equipment drives, and community partnerships.
Our flagship Mexico program, Warrior Kids For Life, operates in Tijuana under the direction of Coach Jharely Reyes (@mma_reyes). The program serves youth at a local orphanage and surrounding community with regular training, equipment, and mentorship. We also support competitors affiliated with the Universidad Autónoma de Yucatán (UADY) competition team and have an active presence in Mexico City.
OpenGuard Collective has an active presence across multiple cities in the Philippines, including Davao, delivering gi donations and hosting seminars to help grow the local jiu-jitsu community. Our work there builds on a foundation established through the Groundwork Foundation, OGC's predecessor organization.
We are actively supporting the growth of jiu-jitsu across multiple Colombian cities through equipment drives and community-building initiatives. Our goal is to help establish sustainable training environments where athletes can grow long-term.
In Ecuador, OpenGuard Collective has established a partnership with the state government to provide free jiu-jitsu programming to the community. This is a landmark model for how martial arts organizations and local governments can collaborate to make quality training accessible to everyone regardless of income.
